Conceived by Michelle Cassar de Sierra and Martin Sierra, and inspired by Carl Davis’ score and the story of Scheherazade, the production introduces enchanting elements, including the Genie of the Lamp appearing from a cave of dancing jewels. Set in ancient Arabia and drawing on influences from the Arab world alongside segments of the classic ballet La Bayadere, the performance marries virtuosic classical technique with mesmerising choreography and immersive storytelling.
