During this time, City and Colour began touring small, intimate venues while Green was still active with Alexisonfire.
The name City and Colour is inspired by his own name, with "Dallas" signifying a city and "Green" representing a color. He chose this moniker because he felt uneasy about releasing music under his own name, Dallas Green. This choice allowed him to establish a distinct identity for his solo projects, separate from his work with Alexisonfire.
