All You Need To Know About Givēon

Giveon Dezmann Evans, professionally known as Giveon, is an American R&B singer and songwriter born on 21 February 1995 in Long Beach, California. He gained recognition for his deep, soulful baritone and emotionally resonant storytelling, which set him apart in modern R&B. Drawing inspiration from classic soul and jazz, Giveon first attracted attention with his 2018 single “Garden Kisses” and later achieved mainstream success through his feature on Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle.” His debut EP Take Time (2020) received critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination, while “Heartbreak Anniversary” became a global anthem capturing the complexities of heartbreak.

Following this breakthrough, Giveon further developed his artistry with his debut studio album Give or Take (2022) and, more recently, Beloved (2025), which highlights a more introspective and mature sound. His collaborations with prominent artists such as Justin Bieber (“Peaches”) and Drake demonstrate his versatility, while his solo work solidifies his position as one of contemporary R&B’s most compelling voices. With a timeless focus on vulnerability and emotion, Giveon’s music resonates deeply, blending classic influences with modern sensibilities.
