PEGGY GOU NEW ZEALAND TOUR TICKETS 2026
About Peggy Gou
Peggy Gou is a South Korean DJ, singer, songwriter and record producer. She was born Kim Min-ji in Incheon, South Korea and began her piano lessons at the ripe old age of 8. It’s fair to say, she was able to hone her skills over the years thanks to her classical training and had an extremely developed ear for music by the time she became a DJ.
At the age of 14, she was sent to London to study English and then went on to study fashion at the London College of Fashion. Upon graduating, she worked at Harper’s Bazaar in Korea until she moved to Berlin, Germany.
Gou was taught how to DJ by her friend in 2009. She performed for the first time at a club in Soho called Cirque Le Soir and even performed in London at The Book Club. She began teaching herself how to use Ableton Live and started on her producing journey. Her first track, ‘Hungboo’, was released in 2016 and she released a visually stunning art-inspired video when she played it for the first time at the 2016 Style Icon Awards.
Gou began releasing albums in January 2016, with her remix of Glacher Lustwerk. She then released four EPs, including Art of War, Art of War (Part II), Seek for Maktop, Once and Moment. Seek for Maktop was by far her most successful, featuring her hit track ‘It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)’.
In 2017, Gou started on her first North American tour and even featured on Boiler Room. Did you know she even performed at the prolific and most exclusive club in the world, Berghain. Gou has performed hundreds of times around the world, with collaborators like Moodymann, The Blessed and even Madonna.
Her name has lit up line up at humongous festivals and concerts like Coachella, Glastonbury, Sonus, Dekmantel, Primavera Sound and a handful of fashion shows, including Abloh’s Off-White runway.
Gou has won a handful of awards including Best Track at the AIM Independent Music Awards. Her work has also been featured in several websites, games and movies. In 2019, Forbes included her in their Asian leader list of Top 30 under 30. That year she also launched her own fashion label, KIRIN, supported by the late Virgil Abloh. She even launched her own record label, Gudu Records in March 2019. Her intention with Gudu was to give artists who were starting out better opportunities and exposure, than the experience she had as a beginner.
In 2023, she released ‘(It Goes Like) Nanana’ through XL Recordings and turned out to be the first single from her debut album in 2024. She then released ‘I Believe In Love Again’ with Lenny Kravitz, followed by ‘1+1+11’. She released the complete album, ‘I Hear You’, in June 2024.
