San Cisco, an Australian indie pop band formed in 2009 in Fremantle as King George, consists of Jordi Davieson (guitar, lead vocals), Josh Biondillo (guitar, vocals), and Scarlett Stevens (drums, vocals). They signed with Albert Productions in 2011 but later moved to Island Records for their debut album. In October 2012, the band described their sound as "squelchy, crispy, streamlined, hairy, indie." They were nominated for ARIA Music Awards in 2013 for Best Independent Release, Best Dance Release, and Best Video for "Fred Astaire."

Influenced by MGMT, The Flaming Lips, and Vampire Weekend, the band’s members draw inspiration from various sources, including Stevens’ work in a record store. Stevens also contributed backing vocals to Bob Evans' "Go" and the single version of Illy's "Tightrope."
