About Tame Impala
Parker is best known for being a solo recording artist who goes under the name of Tame impala for which he writes, records, and produces the music. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2015 he won two awards, Engineer of the Year and Producer of the Year, for his work on Tame Impala's Currents (2015). As a touring act, Parker (guitar, vocals) plays alongside Dominic Simper (guitar, synthesiser) and some members of Australian psychedelic rock band Pond – Jay Watson (synthesiser, vocals, guitar), Cam Avery (bass guitar, vocals), and Julien Barbagallo (drums, vocals).
After a series of singles and EPs, in 2010, the band released their debut studio album, Innerspeaker, which was certified gold in Australia and well received by critics. Their 2012 follow-up, Lonerism, was also acclaimed, reaching platinum status in Australia and receiving a Grammy Award nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. The band's third album, Currents, was released in July 2015, and like its predecessor, it won ARIA Awards for Best Rock Album and Album of the Year. Parker won the APRA Award for Song of the Year 2016 for Currents' first track, "Let It Happen".
Upcoming Tame Impala Deadbeat AUS Tour 2026
On 24 February 2026, Tame Impala, the renowned project of Kevin Parker, announced a four-date Australian arena tour this October in support of his fifth studio album, Deadbeat. The tour will take in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth, with all performances featuring special guest Ninajirachi. Released in late 2025, Deadbeat marked a bold new direction for Parker, led by singles such as ‘Loser’, ‘End of Summer’, and ‘Dracula’, with the latter securing Parker’s strongest US radio debut to date and placing at No. 3 in the Triple J Hottest 100.
Now performing as a six-piece band, Tame Impala launched the Deadbeat tour with 12 sold-out shows across North America in late 2025, and will soon embark on a UK, European, US, and Canadian tour. Created between Fremantle and Parker’s Injidup studio, Wave House, the album blends refined production with a more spontaneous creative approach. Parker recently won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for ‘End of Summer’, while Ninajirachi continues to gain momentum following her award-winning debut album, positioning this Australian tour as one of the most highly anticipated live music events of the year.
