RUGBY LEAGUE PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS NEW ZEALAND 2024

All You Need To Know About 2024 Rugby League Pacific Championships

The Rugby League Pacific Championship is a rugby league tournament for national teams in Oceania, first held in 2019. Initially named the Oceania Cup, it featured two tiers: the top tier with Australia, New Zealand, and Tonga, and the second tier with Fiji, Samoa, and Papua New Guinea. Australia won the Cup, and Fiji won the Shield, earning promotion for the 2020 competition, which was later canceled due to COVID-19.

The tournament was rebranded as the Pacific Championships in 2023, supported by a $7 million investment from the NRL and Australian Government. This tournament became part of the International Rugby League’s seven-year international calendar. In 2024, a women's competition was introduced, with the Women's Bowl serving as the Asia-Pacific qualifier for the 2026 Women's Rugby League World Cup.

The men's and women's tournaments feature national teams from Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, and Tonga. Teams are divided into two divisions based on IRL rankings, with each team playing three matches in a round-robin format, leading to a division final. Unlike the men's tournament, the women's lower tier includes four teams, and no regular touring schedule has been set for the women's sides.
