All You Need To Know About Ghost

Ghost is a Swedish rock band formed in Linköping in 2006 by musician and songwriter Tobias Forge. Renowned for blending hard rock, heavy metal and theatrical stage performance, the group has become one of the most distinctive and commercially successful rock acts of the modern era. Ghost is recognised for its anonymous band members, known as the “Nameless Ghouls”, and Forge’s evolving stage persona, which has included characters such as Papa Emeritus and Cardinal Copia. Their music combines classic heavy metal influences with melodic hooks, arena-rock sensibilities and dark lyrical themes inspired by religion, mythology and the occult.

The band achieved international breakthrough success with albums such as Meliora (2015), Prequelle (2018) and Impera (2022), earning critical acclaim and a devoted global following. Ghost won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2016 for the song “Cirice” and has since headlined major festivals and arena tours worldwide. Known for spectacular live productions featuring elaborate costumes, dramatic visuals and immersive storytelling, Ghost continues to push the boundaries between rock concert and theatrical performance while maintaining broad mainstream appeal.
