Grupo 5 is one of the most successful and influential cumbia groups in Peru, formed in Monsefú, Chiclayo in 1973 by brothers Elmer and Víctor Yaipén. Widely recognised as “El Grupo de Oro del Perú”, the band became internationally known for blending traditional Peruvian cumbia with tropical, merengue and Latin influences, creating a distinctive sound that has remained popular across multiple generations. 

Throughout their career, Grupo 5 have achieved major commercial success across Latin America and beyond through iconic songs including Motor y Motivo, El Ritmo de Mi Corazón and Te Vas. Following the passing of founder Elmer Yaipén in 1999, the group continued under the leadership of the next generation of the Yaipén family, including Christian, Andy and Elmer Yaipén Jr. The band has since expanded internationally, performing sold-out concerts in major venues across South America, Europe and North America while continuing to be regarded as one of the defining acts within modern Peruvian cumbia music.

2. Noche de Oro Concert Series- The Noche de Oro concert series became one of Grupo 5’s most acclaimed live productions, featuring large-scale staging, special guest artists and performances of many of the band’s biggest hits. The concerts achieved rapid sell-outs and further strengthened the group’s reputation as Peru’s leading cumbia act. 
3. Jardín de la Cervezav Performances- Grupo 5 became the first artist to achieve three sold-out performances at the Jardín de la Cerveza venue in Arequipa, one of Peru’s largest concert venues.
