The Hoodoo Gurus are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1981, known for their energetic blend of garage rock, power pop, and psychedelic influences. Fronted by charismatic lead singer and guitarist Dave Faulkner, the band quickly gained popularity with their witty lyrics, catchy hooks, and retro-rock aesthetic. Their debut album, Stoneage Romeos (1984), earned critical acclaim and cult status, featuring hits like "I Want You Back" and "My Girl." Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, they released a string of successful albums including Mars Needs Guitars! and Blow Your Cool!, solidifying their place in the Australian rock scene.
