Nicholas James Murphy, born on June 23, 1988, is an Australian singer and songwriter best known as Chet Faker. In 2012, under the Chet Faker name, he released the EP *Thinking in Textures*, which won him Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Best Independent Single/EP at the Australian Independent Records Awards. His cover of Blackstreet's "No Diggity" gained attention when it was featured in a 2013 Super Bowl commercial.

Murphy's debut album, *Built on Glass*, was released in April 2014 and debuted at number one on the Australian ARIA Charts. In 2016, he began releasing music under his birth name, starting with the *Missing Link* EP in 2017 and his second studio album, *Run Fast Sleep Naked*, in 2019.
