All You Need To Know About The Music of Elton John

Elton John is widely recognised as one of the most influential and commercially successful figures in contemporary music, having achieved global acclaim over a career spanning several decades with record sales surpassing 300 million. Renowned for his distinctive voice, masterful piano playing, and an extensive catalogue of enduring hits, Sir Elton John’s impact on popular music is unmatched, cementing his status as both a cultural and musical icon.

Forty years ago, Elton John invited the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to accompany him on a national orchestral tour. This upcoming programme sees the Orchestra pay tribute to his remarkable legacy through a series of Australian-exclusive performances at Hamer Hall. The Music of Elton features a carefully curated selection of his most celebrated works, performed live by the MSO alongside vocalist and pianist Jason Dean and his ensemble, Superband. Under the musical direction of Chong Lim—whose distinguished career includes collaborations with leading Australian artists and major national productions—these performances promise a sophisticated and nostalgic musical experience
