About The National Rugby League is Australia and New Zealand’s biggest rugby league competition. The NRL was formed in 1998, and it’s made up of sixteen clubs. This includes some Sydney clubs that have been part of the original rugby league competition for over a hundred years! There’s also one Kiwi team, the New Zealand Warriors, thrown into the mix. The National Rugby League was born out of the furore over the Super League in the nineties.
