Gorillaz New Zealand Tour

Gorillaz are a British virtual band created in 1998 by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. The band primarily consists of four animated members: 2-D (lead vocals, keyboards), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar), Noodle (guitar, keyboards), and Russel Hobbs(drums and percussion).

Their fictional universe is explored through music videos, interviews, and other short cartoons. In reality, Albarn is the only permanent musical contributor, and often collaborates with other musicians.

Splendour in the Grass are ensuring their 20th anniversary is as big as it can be. While The Strokes and Tyler, The Creator had already been confirmed to be sticking to their original festival plans to headline Splendour's next edition, virtual British group Gorillaz have been announced to headline Splendour's opening night!

When Gorillaz were announced as Splendour in the Grass headliners a frenzy of excitement ensued. Gorillaz will follow up their Splendour set with headline tour dates in Sydney and Melbourne.
